Principal Analyst FP&A Crested Butte

Job Description:

The Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value. The Mountain Finance team drives comprehensive financial planning, forecasting and analysis to enable the company to align its resources with the achievement of its strategic goals- both long term and short term. The Mountain Finance team works closely with the resort COO/GM and business managers, along with the larger enterprise-wide Mountain and Corporate Finance teams in Broomfield.

The Prin. Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis is the key finance leadership role at Crested Butte, responsible for driving budget planning processes (capital and expense), business management and will be the primary financial control function at the resort. The role will work closely with the central Broomfield team to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting and process alignment. The position is located at Crested Butte and reports to the Sr. Director of Finance for Summit County.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Execute on the core financial planning processes of budgeting, forecasting and financial reviews with the Crested Butte resort team in partnership with the Mountain Finance team in Broomfield
  • Ensure accurate daily and monthly reporting, including tracking transaction and sales detail reports to verify data and financial reporting accuracy
  • Serve on the Resort s Senior Leadership team supporting the strategic priorities of the Resort
  • Provide variance commentary to central Mountain Finance team on Monthly Financial results, forecasting considerations and action items for follow-up with the resort team
  • Review weekly and monthly financial results with the Resort senior team members and recommendations on business management
  • Partner with the resort team to ensure financial discipline and expense management
  • Produce financial analysis to aid in critical business decision-making at the resort
  • Anticipate changes in the business and advise on efficiencies and improvements
  • Continuously look to improve financial accuracy and financial business knowledge within the resort
  • Proactively communicate with managers, the COO and the Mountain Finance team with ideas and recommendations
  • Work closely with line of business leaders to support operations and drive profitability
  • Assure accounting practices are followed by all managers
  • Juggle multiple priorites, be comfortable with change, take initiative, work within tight deadlines

Requirements:

4+ years experience (or 1-2 years with MBA or other graduate degree) in finance or accounting with demonstrated success in financial modeling and analysis. The ideal candidate would have experience in financial planning and analysis functions, including annual budget, capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning and resource allocation processes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
